Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO) won 5-2 over Rui Liu (HARBIN, CHN) in the Final of the CCT Aberdeen International Curling Championship, held March 15 - 19, 2017 in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Hardie won 7-3 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2017 CCT Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland; and won 7-2 over Dayna Deruelle (Brampton , ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 CCT Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland;
 
Hardie finished 5-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hardie defeated Gustav Eskilsson (Skellefte�, SWE) 9-4, then won 8-6 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Hardie went on to lose 9-4 against David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO). Hardie responded with a 5-2 win over Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Hardie went on to lose 5-4 against Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR). Hardie responded with a 8-6 win over John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Hardie won 4-3 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the CCT Aberdeen International Curling Championship Championship title, Hardie earned 43.500 world rankings points along with the $9,117CDN first prize cheque, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 53rd place overall with 135.864 total points. Hardie ranks 44th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 91.849 points earned so far this season.
