Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) qualified for the 2017 CCT Aberdeen International Curling Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB).
 
Kauste finished 5-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kauste defeated Michael Brunner (Gstaad, SUI) 7-2, then went on to lose 9-0 against McEwen. Kauste responded with a 6-3 win over Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI). Kauste won 4-2 against Bruce Mouat (Stirlng, SCO), then won 6-5 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Kauste went on to lose 7-3 against Gustav Eskilsson (Skellefte�, SWE). Kauste responded with a 5-4 win over Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Kauste earned 18.643 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the CCT Aberdeen International Curling Championship, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 49th place overall with 149.573 total points. Kauste ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 54.044 points earned so far this season.
