Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON) lost 7-5 to Chad Allen (Brantford, ON) in the Final of the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel, held October 13 - 16, 2016 at the Stroud Curling Club in Innisfil, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Dow won 8-3 over Dayna Deruelle (Brampton , ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-4 over Ontario's Brent Gray in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada;
 
Dow finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dow defeated Ontario's Brent Gray 8-1, then won 5-1 against Brent Ross (Harriston, ON). Dow went on to lose 6-3 against Ontario's Jon St. Denis. Dow responded with a 8-1 win over Gary McCullough (Aurora, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel, Dow take home 15.908 world rankings points along with the $2,100CDN prize, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 55th place overall with 81.609 total points. Dow ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.526 points earned so far this season.
