Chad Allen (Brantford, ON) won 7-5 over Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel, held October 13 - 16, 2016 at the Stroud Curling Club in Innisfil, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Allen won 5-3 over Connor Duhaime (Barrie, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-3 over Northern Ontario's Chris Glibota in the quarterfinals.
 
Allen finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Allen defeated Ontario's Rob Ainsley 5-3, then won 5-3 against Ontario's Cory Heggestad and 7-6 against Ontario's Chris Gardner. Allen won 5-4 against Northern Ontario's Chris Glibota in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel Championship title, Allen earned 20.247 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 32 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 53.311 total points. Allen ranks 57th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.924 points earned so far this season.
