To advance to the championship game, Wang won 7-5 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2016 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 5-2 over Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Wang finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang lost 5-4 to Jolene Campbell (Regina, SK), then responded with a 5-4 win over Kim Schneider (Kronau, SK). Wang won 6-5 against Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK), then won 8-1 against Campbell and 5-4 against Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Colonial Square Ladies Classic Championship title, Wang earned 60.920 world rankings points along with the $11,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 38th place overall with 89.784 total points. Wang ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 61.999 points earned so far this season.
