Shuster finished 4-0 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Andrew Stopera (New York, NY) 10-1, then won 10-2 against Northern Ontario's Chris Glibota and 6-5 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Shuster won 7-2 against Arizona's Mike Siggins in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Curl Mesabi Classic, Shuster take home 24.604 world rankings points along with the $5,332CDN prize, remaining in 17th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 331.884 total points.
