Fenson finished 3-1 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fenson defeated Bryan Burgess (Kakabeka Falls, NONT) 8-5, then went on to lose 7-2 against Northern Ontario's Dylan Johnston. Fenson responded with a 5-4 win over Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON). Fenson won 8-3 against David Falco (Denver, CO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Fenson earned 13.420 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Curl Mesabi Classic.
