To advance to the championship game, Koe won 6-2 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2016 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-5 over Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada;
 
Koe finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Ryan McCrady (Ottawa, ON) 5-3, then won 6-2 against Scott Bailey (Brampton, ON) and 7-4 against Craig Brown (Blaine, USA). Koe won 8-3 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA), then won 8-2 against David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
