To advance to the championship game, Loreth won 4-3 over Daley Peters (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Ken Kurbis Galaxy Bonspiel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 7-5 over Rob Atkins (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Ken Kurbis Galaxy Bonspiel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Loreth finished 5-2 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Loreth defeated Kyle McCannell (Winnipeg, MB) 6-5, then won 5-4 against Curtis McCannell (Pilot Mound , MB). Loreth went on to lose 6-2 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, NONT). Loreth responded with a 7-2 win over Stephen Dropkin (Minneapolis, MN). Loreth won 5-2 against Peters. Loreth went on to lose 5-3 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB). Loreth responded with a 7-4 win over David Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Ken Kurbis Galaxy Bonspiel Championship title, Loreth earned 24.639 world rankings points along with the $3,400CDN first prize cheque, moving up 37 spots the World Ranking Standings into 82nd place overall with 55.533 total points. Loreth ranks 50th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.537 points earned so far this season.
