Richard Krell (Waterloo, ON) finished 2-3 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Krell defeated Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA) 5-3, then went on to lose 7-3 against Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI).
