Alberta's Holly Baird 10-4, then went on to lose 8-1 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB). Makichuk responded with a 7-1 win over Ursi Hegner (Uzwil, SUI). Makichuk won 11-8 against Alyssa Despins (Saskatoon, SK). Makichuk went on to lose 6-4 against Kim Schneider (Kronau, SK). Makichuk lost 6-0 to Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Makichuk earned 2.064 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 15 of the event schedule, Makichuk did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
