Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) won 7-2 over Scott Strouse (Midland , MI) in the Final of the Fort Wayne Mad Anthony CashSpiel, held November 18 - 20, 2016 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. To advance to the championship game, Sobering won 8-5 over Bret Jackson (Milford, MI) in the semifinals of the Fort Wayne Mad Anthony CashSpiel in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and won 7-3 over Chad Roberts (Detroit, MI) in the quarterfinals. of the Fort Wayne Mad Anthony CashSpiel in Fort Wayne, Indiana;

Sobering finished 3-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sobering defeated Marty Lemert (Fort Wayne, IN) 8-6, then won 6-5 against John Paul Munich (Dalton, WI) and 10-4 against Rick Law (Kingsville, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Fort Wayne Mad Anthony CashSpiel Championship title, Sobering earned 6.752 world rankings points along with the $1,350CDN first prize cheque, moving up 85 spots the World Ranking Standings into 213th place overall with 12.624 total points. Sobering ranks 131st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.936 points earned so far this season.
