To advance to the championship game, Maus won 4-2 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Brantford Nissan Mens Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-5 over Rob Retchless (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Brantford Nissan Mens Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada;
 
Maus finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maus defeated Scott Bailey (Brampton, ON) 7-3, then won 7-1 against Mark Kean (Brantford, ON) and 7-3 against Ryan Sayer (New Liskeard, NONT). Maus went on to lose 5-3 against Cory Heggestad (Derby Township, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Brantford Nissan Mens Classic, Maus take home 19.944 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 47th place overall with 138.252 total points.
