Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON) lost 4-2 to Jacqueline Harrison (Mississauga, ON) in the Final of the Brantford Nissan Women's Classic, held December 8 - 11, 2016 at the Brant Curling Club in Brantford, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Tippin won 5-3 over Cathy Auld (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Brantford Nissan Women's Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada; and won 5-4 over Chrissy Cadorin (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Brantford Nissan Women's Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada;

Tippin finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tippin defeated Auld 7-4, then won 6-3 against Sara Westman (London, ON) and 5-4 against Erin Macaulay (Ottawa, ON). Tippin won 8-6 against Hollie Nicol (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Brantford Nissan Women's Classic, Tippin take home 19.312 world rankings points along with the $1,300CDN prize, remaining in 23rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 240.676 total points. Tippin ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 122.049 points earned so far this season.
