Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE) lost 7-4 to Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggi-do, KOR) in the Final of the Karuizawa International, held December 15 - 18, 2016 in Karuizawa, Japan.

In their opening game, Sigfridsson defeated Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) 7-2, then won 5-2 against Korea's Ji Suk Kim and 9-1 against Chiaki Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN). Sigfridsson went on to lose 9-3 against Eve Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
