Shannon Kleibrink (Okotoks, AB) lost 7-6 to Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) in the Final of the King Cash Spiel, held January 6 - 8, 2017 at the Golden Ears Curling Club in Maple Ridge, Canada. Kleibrink finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kleibrink defeated Nicole Backe (Nanaimo, BC) 6-5, then won 6-5 against Sarah Koltun (Whitehorse, YK) and 7-2 against Gushulak. Kleibrink went on to lose 4-2 against Marla Mallett (Walnut Grove, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the King Cash Spiel, Kleibrink take home 16.908 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 233.537 total points. Kleibrink ranks 25th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 126.149 points earned so far this season.
