Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) won 9-3 over Richard Muntain (Pinawa, MB) in the Final of the Man Curl Tour Classic, held October 7 - 10, 2016 at the Thistle Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Calvert won 5-3 over Trevor Loreth (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Man Curl Tour Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-0 over William Kuran (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Man Curl Tour Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;

Calvert finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Calvert defeated Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) 9-1, then went on to lose 4-3 against Kuran. Calvert responded with a 6-3 win over Justin Reynolds (Winnipeg Beach, MB). Calvert won 7-5 against Tian Yu Zhang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Man Curl Tour Classic Championship title, Calvert earned 20.250 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 53 spots the World Ranking Standings into 86th place overall with 41.261 total points. Calvert ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 29.289 points earned so far this season.
