Karina Aitken (Edinburgh, SCO) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Aitken finished 3-3 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Aitken lost 10-4 to Hazel Smith (Lanarkshire, SCO), droppimg another game, 9-1 to Gina Aitken (Edinburgh, SCO) where Aitken responded with a 11-8 win over Hannah Fleming (Lockerbie, SCO). Aitken won 11-5 against Amy MacDonald (Inverness, SCO). Aitken went on to lose 7-4 against Eve Muirhead (Perth, SCO). Aitken responded with a 10-3 win over Maggie Wilson (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Aitken earned 2.373 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 28 of the event schedule, Aitken did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Aitken ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
