Chad Stevens (Halifax, NS) lost 5-4 to Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS) in the Final of the Lakeshore Curling Club Cashspiel, held September 21 - 26, 2016 in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. To advance to the championship game, Stevens won 4-3 over Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2016 Lakeshore Curling Club Cashspiel in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; and won 7-3 over Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Lakeshore Curling Club Cashspiel in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia;
 
Stevens finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stevens lost 5-4 to Mike Flemming (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 6-4 win over Dexter. Stevens won 6-5 against Robert Mayhew (Halifax, NS). Stevens went on to lose 6-0 against Thompson. Stevens responded with a 7-1 win over Matt Jackson (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Lakeshore Curling Club Cashspiel, Stevens take home 12.856 world rankings points along with the $900CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 49th place overall with 83.475 total points.
