Kody Hartung (Saskatoon , SK) won 2-0 over Brad Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) in the Final of the Goldline Saskatchewan Players Championship, held January 6 - 8, 2017 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Hartung won 7-5 over Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK) to advance to the championship game. of the 2017 Goldline Saskatchewan Players Championship in Humboldt, Saskatchewan;

Hartung finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hartung defeated Shane Vollman (Regina, SK) 6-0, then won 5-2 against Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK) and 8-3 against Daniel Selke (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Goldline Saskatchewan Players Championship Championship title, Hartung earned 18.419 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 49th place overall with 137.557 total points. Hartung ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 82.048 points earned so far this season.
