Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON) won 5-4 over Dayna Deruelle (Brampton , ON) in the Final of the Secker Ross & Perry Eastern Ontario Championship, held December 2 - 4, 2016 in Kingston, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Balsdon won 11-1 over Chris Glibota (Sudbury, NONT) in the semifinals   of the 2016 Secker Ross & Perry Eastern Ontario Championship in Kingston, Ontario; and won 7-2 over Alex Leichter (Boston, USA) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2016 Secker Ross & Perry Eastern Ontario Championship in Kingston, Ontario; 
 
Balsdon finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balsdon defeated Scott Buckley (Kingston, ON) 10-1, then won 8-4 against Stephen Watson (Ottawa, ON) and 6-1 against Glenn Garneys (London, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Secker Ross & Perry Eastern Ontario Championship Championship title, Balsdon earned 15.999 world rankings points along with the $2,420CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 20th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 12.676 after improving upon their best so far this season. Balsdon ranks 13th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 164.285 points earned so far this season.
