Ashton Simard (Edmonton, AB) lost 9-1 to Janais DeJong (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Leduc LIONS Junior Womens Bonspiel, held November 4 - 6, 2016 in Leduc, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Simard won 7-3 over Brett Day (Red Deer, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Leduc LIONS Junior Womens Bonspiel in Leduc, Alberta; and won 8-3 over Abby Marks (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Simard finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Simard defeated Taitan Hagglund (Edmonton, AB) 7-2, then won 7-6 against Kaileigh Morrison (Calgary, AB). Simard went on to lose 10-4 against DeJong in their final qualifying round match.
