Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) lost 6-1 to Colton Goller (Lethbridge, AB) in the Final of the Balmoral Harvest Junior Mens Classic, held November 18 - 20, 2016 in Edmonton, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 11-2 over Cole Adams (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Balmoral Harvest Junior Mens Classic in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 4-3 over Kyler Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Sturmay finished 3-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Nathan Molberg (St. Albert, AB) 14-2, then won 6-3 against Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) and 8-3 against Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Sturmay did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sturmay ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
