In their opening game, Smeltzer-McCausland defeated Logan Sweeney (Yarmouth, NS) 5-4, then went on to lose 8-3 against Matt Jackson (Halifax, NS). Smeltzer-McCausland lost 7-3 to Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
