Hostmaehlingen finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hostmaehlingen defeated Berg 10-0, then won 9-2 against Trygve Fjerdingstad (Hedmarken, NOR) and 7-1 against Oystein Sorum (Oslo, NOR). Hostmaehlingen won 9-0 against Christian Birkeland (Sarpsborg, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Norway Cup 3 Championship title, Hostmaehlingen earned 8.385 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 194 spots the World Ranking Standings into 285th place overall with 10.012 total points.
