Kjell Berg (Risenga, NOR) lost 6-3 to Johan Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR) in the Final of the Norway Cup 3, held February 10 - 12, 2017 in Stange, Norway.

Berg finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Berg lost 10-0 to Hostmaehlingen, then responded with a 9-1 win over Oystein Sorum (Oslo, NOR). Berg went on to lose 10-0 against Christian Birkeland (Sarpsborg, NOR). Berg responded with a 9-2 win over Trygve Fjerdingstad (Hedmarken, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Norway Cup 3, Berg take home 6.588 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN prize, moving up 177 spots the World Ranking Standings into 316th place overall with 7.990 total points.
