Shawn Taylor (Brandon, MB) qualified for the 2016 Westman Super League playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Jerry Chudley (Brandon, MB). of the 2016 Westman Super League in Brandon, Manitoba;

Taylor finished 6-5 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Taylor defeated Kelly Marnoch (Carberry, MB) 6-1, then won 7-2 against Tyler Waterhouse (Carberry, MB) and 9-3 against Chase Dusessoy (Brandon, MB). Taylor won 8-0 against Shane McGranahan (Brandon, MB). Taylor went on to lose 8-1 against Duane Lang (Brandon, MB). Taylor responded with a 6-1 win over Kelly McMechan (Deloraine, MB). Taylor went on to lose 7-5 against Curtis McCannell (Pilot Mound , MB). Taylor lost 4-3 to Steve Irwin (Brandon, MB) where Taylor responded with a 6-3 win over Butch Mouck (Minnedosa, MB). Taylor went on to lose 7-4 against Chudley. Taylor lost 8-3 to Terry McNamee (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Taylor earned 5.212 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Westman Super League, moving up 108 spots the World Ranking Standings into 302nd place overall with 8.269 total points. Taylor ranks 271st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.496 points earned so far this season.
