To advance to the championship game, Miskew/Griffith won 5-4 over Kaitlyn Lawes/Marc Kennedy (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Wall Grain Mixed Doubles Classic in Kimberley, British Columbia; and won 8-5 over Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Horseshoe Valley, ON) in the quarterfinals.

In their opening game, Miskew/Griffith defeated Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Ottawa, ON) 9-6, then won 10-9 against Rui Wang/De Xin Ba (Harbin, CHN) and 8-2 against Lawes/Kennedy.
