In their opening game, Brewster lost 8-3 to Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN), then responded with a 8-7 win over Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Brewster won 8-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Brewster went on to lose 7-6 against Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuhel, AUT). Brewster responded with a 6-5 win over Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Brewster went on to lose 6-5 against Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN). Brewster lost 4-2 to Andy Kapp (Hamburg, GER) where Brewster responded with a 6-4 win over Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Brewster went on to lose 8-6 against Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.

Brewster earned 8.114 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 18th place overall with 297.364 total points. Brewster ranks 21st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 110.479 points earned so far this season.
