In their opening game, van Dorp defeated Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL) 11-2, then won 8-3 against Martin Lill (Tallinn, EST) and 11-2 against Stefan Sever (Ljubljana, SLO). van Dorp won 7-2 against Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT), then won 8-4 against Gergely Szabo (Budapest, HUN). van Dorp went on to lose 6-4 against Alan Macdougall (Kent, ENG). van Dorp responded with a 7-5 win over Timothy Verreycken (Mechelen, BEL) in their final qualifying round match.

The berth into the first round of the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships playoffs earned van Dorp 20.948 world rankings points, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 33rd place overall with 175.711 total points. van Dorp ranks 33rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 77.746 points earned so far this season.
