Susan Froud (Stroud, ON) finished 4-2 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Froud lost 12-1 to Cathy Auld (Dundas, ON), then responded with a 10-2 win over Charlene Sobering (Ottawa, ON). Froud won 7-3 against Megan Balsdon (Mississauga, ON), then won 9-5 against Sherry Middaugh (Coldwater, ON) and 7-4 against Julie Hastings (Toronto, ON). Froud went on to lose 12-3 against Heather Heggestad (Thornhill, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Froud earned 3.116 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 18 of the event schedule, Froud did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Froud ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
