Dailene Pewarchuk (Victoria, BC) finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pewarchuk defeated Amanda Russett (Kamloops, BC) 11-3, then won 7-6 against Kesa Van Osch (Nanaimo, BC) and 9-5 against Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the BC Scotties - Open Event #1 Championship title, Pewarchuk earned 8.925 world rankings points. For week 16 of the event schedule, Pewarchuk did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
