Kristen Streifel (Edmonton, AB) won 8-5 over Janais DeJong (Leduc, AB) in the Final Streifel advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Alberta Junior Women's Provincials, held January 4 - 8, 2017 in Edmonton, Alberta.
 
Streifel finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Streifel defeated McKenna Jones (Medicine Hat, AB) 8-4, then won 7-3 against Jessica Wytrychowski (Calgary, AB) and 11-2 against Ashton Simard (Edmonton, AB). Streifel won 6-5 against Selena Sturmay (Calgary, AB), then won 8-4 against Abby Marks (Edmonton, AB) and 6-3 against Kayla Skrlik (Falher, AB). Streifel went on to lose 7-6 against DeJong in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week 21 of the event schedule, Streifel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Streifel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
