In their opening game, McEwen defeated Adam Casey (Regina, SK) 6-5, then won 8-4 against Brad Gushue (St. Johns, NL) and 6-2 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). McEwen won 10-6 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB), then won 9-7 against Mike Kennedy (Fredericton, NB). McEwen went on to lose 7-5 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). McEwen responded with a 6-5 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). McEwen won 9-3 against Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS). McEwen went on to lose 6-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN). McEwen responded with a 8-3 win over Glenn Howard (Toronto, ON). McEwen won 5-2 against Jean-Michel Menard (Levis, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

McEwen earned 50.731 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Tim Hortons Brier. For week 30 of the event schedule, McEwen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. McEwen ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
