Jan Hess (Zug, SUI) finished 4-5 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hess defeated Marco Onnis (Trentino, ITA) 8-3, then won 10-3 against Johan Nygren (Goteberg, SWE). Hess went on to lose 9-6 against Andrew Stopera (Blaine, USA). Hess lost 8-7 to Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) where Hess responded with a 7-6 win over Ugurcan Karagoz (Eruzurum, TUR). Hess won 9-4 against Zhi Yu Wang (Harbin, CHN). Hess went on to lose 8-3 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, CAN). Hess lost 8-6 to Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR). Hess lost 11-6 to Ki Jeong Lee (Uiseong, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Hess earned 1.445 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Hess did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hess ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
