Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN) won 4-2 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the Final of the Ford World Men's Curling Championship, held April 1 - 9, 2017 in Edmonton, Alberta.
 
Gushue finished 11-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) 7-5, then won 11-3 against Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS) and 8-6 against Edin. Gushue won 8-2 against David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO), then won 8-2 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA) and 9-4 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Gushue won 8-2 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER), then won 8-3 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) and 10-2 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Gushue won 9-2 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA), then won 8-4 against Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Ford World Men's Curling Championship Championship title, Gushue earned 72.618 world rankings points. For week 34 of the event schedule, Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
