In their opening game, Baumann defeated Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) 6-5, then went on to lose 7-5 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Baumann lost 8-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Baumann lost 7-4 to Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Baumann lost 7-4 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) where Baumann responded with a 6-5 win over Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Baumann went on to lose 8-2 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Baumann lost 8-5 to John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Baumann lost 8-7 to Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) where Baumann responded with a 9-7 win over Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS). Baumann went on to lose 7-1 against David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Baumann earned 7.781 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 34 of the event schedule, Baumann did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Baumann ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
