In their opening game, van Dorp lost 6-5 to Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER), droppimg another game, 9-6 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). van Dorp lost 8-3 to Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR). van Dorp lost 9-3 to Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). van Dorp lost 13-6 to Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). van Dorp lost 9-5 to David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO). van Dorp lost 9-6 to Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). van Dorp lost 8-3 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN) where van Dorp responded with a 6-4 win over Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS). van Dorp went on to lose 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). van Dorp lost 8-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

van Dorp earned 2.594 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 41st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.5 after improving upon their best so far this season. van Dorp ranks 50th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 80.951 points earned so far this season.
