Kelly Shimizu (Richmond, BC) finished 2-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shimizu lost 9-7 to Sarah Wark (Chilliwack, BC), then responded with a 4-2 win over Yadranka Thompson (Richmond, BC). Shimizu won 4-3 against Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC). Shimizu went on to lose 8-1 against Diane Gushulak (New Wesstminster, BC). Shimizu lost 7-5 to Julie Herndier (Surrey, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Shimizu earned 0.638 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 18 of the event schedule, Shimizu did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Shimizu ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
