Dale Kelly (Chatham, ON) finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kelly defeated Richard Krell (Waterloo, ON) 9-8, then won 9-4 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON). Kelly went on to lose 10-7 against Wayne Tuck Jr. (Brantford, ON). Kelly responded with a 7-5 win over Michael Shepherd (Richmond Hill, ON). Kelly went on to lose 6-4 against Scott Bailey (Dundas, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Kelly earned 2.166 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 143rd place overall with 36.892 total points. Kelly ranks 123rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.825 points earned so far this season.
