Mike Kennedy (Fredericton, NB) finished 3-0 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kennedy defeated James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) 8-6, then won 7-2 against Wayne Tallon (Fredericton, NB) and 9-2 against Jeremy Mallais (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the New Brunswick Tankard Prelims Championship title, Kennedy earned 10.125 world rankings points. For week 22 of the event schedule, Kennedy did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kennedy ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
