Tova Sundberg (Ostersund, SWE) lost 10-3 to Isabella Wrana (Stockholm, SWE) in the Final of the Swedish Junior Womens Championship, held December 15 - 18, 2016 in Karlstad, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, Sundberg won 5-2 over Rebecka Thunman (Uppsala, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2017 Swedish Junior Womens Championship in Karlstad, Sweden;

Sundberg finished 4-2 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sundberg defeated Thea Orefjord (Karlstad, SWE) 11-1, then won 10-2 against Emma Moberg (Mjolby, SWE) and 5-4 against Cecilia Fransson (Harnosand, SWE). Sundberg went on to lose 6-2 against Wrana. Sundberg lost 7-6 to Thunman where Sundberg responded with a 8-5 win over Therese Westman (Danderyd, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Swedish Junior Womens Championship, Sundberg take home 8.621 world rankings points. For week 18 of the event schedule, Sundberg did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sundberg ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
