Susan Carothers (Fairbanks, AK) run at the 2017 USA Senior Women's National Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 10-0 loss to Margie Smith (St. Paul, MN).
 
Carothers finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carothers lost 9-3 to Norma O'Leary (Duluth, MN), then responded with a 8-1 win over Beth Bohlman (Grand Forks, ND). Carothers won 9-7 against Karen Fairley (Portland, OR), then won 9-2 against Debra Horn (Cleveland, OH) in their final qualifying round match.
