Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, WA) lost 5-4 to Andrew Stopera (Chicago, IL) in the Final of the USA Junior Mens National Championship, held January 13 - 21, 2017 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Connolly finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Connolly defeated Riley Fenson (Bemidji, MN) 8-3, then won 5-3 against Chase Sinnett (Wayland, MA) and 5-3 against Nicholas Steinhaus (Mapleton, MN). Connolly went on to lose 6-4 against Josh Moore (Mapleton, MN). Connolly lost 11-9 to Hunter Clawson (Potomac, MD) where Connolly responded with a 8-6 win over Stopera. Connolly won 8-3 against Timothy Hodek (Fargo-Moorhead, ND) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the USA Junior Mens National Championship, Connolly take home 7.054 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, Connolly did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Connolly ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
