Andrew Stopera (Chicago, IL) won 5-4 over Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, WA) in the Final of the USA Junior Mens National Championship, held January 13 - 21, 2017 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Stopera finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stopera defeated Hunter Clawson (Potomac, MD) 6-3, then won 10-7 against Josh Moore (Mapleton, MN). Stopera went on to lose 5-4 against Timothy Hodek (Fargo-Moorhead, ND). Stopera responded with a 6-4 win over Riley Fenson (Bemidji, MN). Stopera won 4-1 against Chase Sinnett (Wayland, MA). Stopera went on to lose 8-6 against Connolly. Stopera responded with a 5-3 win over Nicholas Steinhaus (Mapleton, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the USA Junior Mens National Championship Championship title, Stopera earned 8.978 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, Stopera did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
