In their opening game, Gorveatt defeated Robert Campbell (Charlottetown, PEI) 7-6, then went on to lose 6-4 against Blair Jay (Summerside, PEI). Gorveatt responded with a 11-2 win over Calvin Smith (Summerside, PEI). Gorveatt won 8-3 against MacKenzie, then won 8-2 against Jay and 7-2 against Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI). Gorveatt won 9-8 against Campbell in their final qualifying round match.
