Kristen Streifel (Edmonton, AB) won 5-3 over Hailey Armstrong (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Canadian Junior Womens Championship, held January 21 - 29, 2017 in Victoria, British Columbia. To advance to the championship game, Streifel won 7-3 over Krysta Burns (Sudbury, NONT) in the semifinals of the 2017 Canadian Junior Womens Championship in Victoria, British Columbia;
 
Streifel finished 7-3 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Streifel lost 6-3 to Brooke Godsland (St. John's, NL), then responded with a 8-0 win over Zoey Walsh (Hay River, NT). Streifel won 8-2 against Lauren Lenentine (Cornwall, PEI), then won 11-6 against Laura Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) and 7-4 against Kristin Clarke (Chester, NS). Streifel won 5-4 against Kaitlyn Jones (Regina, SK), then won 7-5 against Quebec's Camile Boisvert. Streifel went on to lose 9-4 against Burns. Streifel responded with a 7-6 win over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC). Streifel went on to lose 7-3 against Armstrong in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Canadian Junior Womens Championship Championship title, Streifel earned 21.375 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Streifel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Streifel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
