In their opening game, Waterhouse defeated Dale Brooks (Hamiota, MB) 7-6, then went on to lose 7-4 against Jerry Chudley (Neepawa, MB). Waterhouse responded with a 8-7 win over Shayne MacGranachan (Brandon, MB). Waterhouse won 8-7 against Brooks, then won 6-1 against Chudley. Waterhouse went on to lose 7-5 against Graham Freeman (Virden, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Waterhouse earned 1.138 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 277th place overall with 9.283 total points. Waterhouse ranks 234th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.661 points earned so far this season.
