Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE) won 8-7 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the Final of the Swedish National Championship, held February 1 - 5, 2017 in Jonkoping, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, Sigfridsson won 11-1 over Tova Sundberg (Ostersund, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2017 Swedish National Championship in Jonkoping, Sweden;

Sigfridsson are currently 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sigfridsson defeated Cecilia Fransson (Skelleftea, SWE) 9-0, then went on to lose 8-5 against Hasselborg. Sigfridsson responded with a 6-4 win over Emma Berg (Stockholm, SWE). Sigfridsson won 7-1 against Rebecka Thunman (Uppsala, SWE), then won 7-4 against Towe Lundman (Uppsala, SWE) and 8-0 against Sundberg. In their next game, Sigfridsson plays.

For winning the Swedish National Championship Championship title, Sigfridsson earned 23.342 world rankings points. Sigfridsson move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 16.938 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 17th overall with 350.856 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Sigfridsson ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 208.316 points earned so far this season.
