Ackerman went on to lose 8-1 against Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK). Ackerman responded with a 11-3 win over Walter in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the SaskTel Tankard - South Qualifier, Ackerman take home 5.363 world rankings points, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 64th place overall with 97.075 total points.
